Meet Nicole Rivera
Hello and thank you for visiting my page! My name is Nicole Rivera, and I am a professional makeup artist with 15 years experience and counting. I have worked in retail, fashion, editorial, commercial and television. I am absolutely obsessed with makeup and the transformational power it beholds. My favorite thing in the world is telling a story with makeup. It’s the ultimate accessory; any fashion story is incomplete without it.
Since childhood I can remember being completely enamored with fashion and makeup- I even convinced my mother to send my awkward, weird looking, 11 year old self to Barbizon Modeling School in the early 1990s. At 5’2’ with braces I never stood a chance but I I fell even deeper in love with the beauty industry and eventually went full force towards my goals in my 20’s.
I’ve done what many artists have done: worked in retail for MAC cosmetics for 6 years, then freelanced on my own, tested tested tested (still do with the right team), worked backstage at NYFW and most recently worked for live TV shows like the all of news cycles for MSNBC, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,Todayshow.com and other various assignments at 30 Rockefeller Center. What sets me apart from other artists are my soft skills. I can read a room, anticipate what's needed, and truly believe that, as corny as it may sound, teamwork makes the dream work. Great collaborations will result in great work and often, great art.
Nothing has come easy, but I continue to work hard and have a deep love affair with all things beauty and makeup. I am truly makeup obsessed- history, formulation, brand knowledge- are all part of my repertoire.
